Fire on Färberstrasse in Leipzig: girl (12) died!

Leipzig – In an apartment building on Färberstrasse im Leipziger A fatal fire broke out in the central-northwest district on Wednesday afternoon.
Police spokesman Philipp Jurke told TAG24 that the fire should have broken out around 4:05 pm in the attic of the house at the corner of Färberstrasse and Ranstädter Steinweg. It is currently unclear how this came about.
“Police, firefighters and rescuers immediately went to the scene of the incident. The traffic alert service and the LVB were also informed that there were traffic restrictions due to the extinguishing work,” Jurke said.
Also, a federal police helicopter is said to be in use. “Colleagues were probably there by chance and are currently helping with the investigation from above.”
Residents of the house must meet in front of the building and identify themselves. The press spokesperson could not initially say if there were any injuries. “We currently have no information on this.”
The Ranstädter Steinweg should now be free for traffic again.
UPDATE, 6 pm:
According to current information, Ranstädter Steinweg is not yet completely traffic-free. In the out-of-town direction there are still supposed to be closures.
In addition, the fire department announced via Twitter that several people could be saved using the revolving ladder in the fire.
The extinction work is still ongoing.
UPDATE, 7pm.: At least five people injured in a house fire in Leipzig
According to a police spokeswoman, five people were injured in the fire. “A person can already be served on site.” Four are said to have been taken to hospital for treatment. “No information is yet available on the type and severity of the injuries.”
According to a message from the Leipzig fire brigade on Twitter, one person died in the Färberstrasse fire.
People who were taken to the hospital are said to have been seriously injured in some cases.
UPDATE, 9:52 pm:
According to the police, the dead girl is a twelve-year-old girl. It is said that the little boy was found dead in the building during the extinction work. Any help came too late.
“The boy’s parents have been informed. A crisis intervention team is already with them,” the spokeswoman said.
UPDATE, 10:15 pm:
The police have released more information about the house fire on Färberstrasse. Consequently, the circumstances of the fire and the cause of the child’s death should be investigated.
Fire investigators will now begin investigations at the site.
