The living room and bathroom are four square meters, the kitchen tiles are covered with gold leaf and a roof terrace invites you to relax. Those who like minimalism will probably love this building – Bremen’s smallest house is for sale.

The building with a land of seven square meters is offered on the Internet for 77,777 euros plus a purchase commission of almost six percent. That comes from an advertisement for the Kensington company.

The living space of the one-storey house in the old town of Bremen is four square meters, there is a terrace on the roof and there is also a small wine cellar. “It’s perhaps the oldest tiny house in Germany,” realtor Tobias Lachmann said of the listed house more than 100 years old. According to Lachmann, the exact year of construction is difficult to determine. “For a long time, the building was not perceived as a separate house because it is right next to another house.”

The building, which was used as a laundry room with a toilet, is located in the Schnoor (Low German for cordon) district, where small, colorful houses line narrow streets. The district is a sight and is popular with tourists.

“It is a piece of history and a superlative in Bremen,” said the agent.

According to Lachmann, more than 80 interested parties had reported as of Tuesday. The purchase price of 77,777 euros is impressive because it exceeds 10,000 euros per square meter. According to the broker, the idea came about because the land is seven square meters and the owner is 77 years old.

Therefore, the use of the house is diverse. There are stakeholders who want to use the building as a vacation home, as an art studio or as a therapy practice. “It is important to the owner that the buyer adapts to the property and knows how to appreciate it,” Lachmann said. The decision on who will be the new owner of the mini house must be made in the coming weeks.
