2020 US Elections On Live Gauge: Technical Issues: North Carolina Result Delayed

Problems with casting absentee votes by the US Post focus for the first time on this election day. A federal judge ordered an immediate search of twelve postal districts to search for undelivered ballots, US media reported. The Post had stated that, according to the registry, some 300,000 postal ballots had not been delivered to polling stations. But that could have different reasons.

District of Columbia Judge Emmet G. Sullivan ordered the search to begin before 3 pm local time to “ensure that ballots have not been withheld and that the identified ballots are immediately sent for service.” He said he was particularly concerned about ballot delivery in districts that have been slow to process ballots for days, including central Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and Detroit.
