Helge Schneider writes to the finance minister and awaits a response

Schneider asked Finance Minister Olaf Scholz (SPD) not to use the month of November of the previous year when calculating Corona aid, but rather an average value.
The comedian posted a photo of a typed letter to Scholz on Facebook Thursday: “You made a mistake supporting artists: I didn’t make money in November 2019, so you can’t calculate 75%. Do it another way. By For example, take AVERAGE YEAR-MONTH. Thank you! “
Scholz announced Wednesday that during the time of the partial shutdown in November, lone freelancers, among others, should be compensated for their lost sales up to 75 percent of November 2019 sales.
Three sold-out concerts for November were announced on the Schneider homepage on Thursday: in Leverkusen, Viersen and Suburb. According to a list, Schneider plans 14 concerts in December.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance reacts: a solution is in sight
Berlin’s economy and finance ministries promised a solution on Thursday. They announced that freelancers have the right to choose – they could also use the average sales from the previous year in 2019 as a frame of reference for sales.
Secretary of State for Finance Wolfgang Schmidt finally responded to the musician Twitter: “This is how we do it. Helge Schneider is pleased that the Federal Ministry of Finance quickly accepted his proposal for aid from the crown.
“I am satisfied with the result of my simple proposal. I think that good ideas are always useful,” said Schneider on Friday when asked by the German press agency dpa. “It can’t always work like this, of course, so I’m particularly happy.”
Olaf Scholz discussed the proposal in one on Friday Bild Live interview again. “Helge Schneider will get money if the information in this letter is correct,” he promised.
