Düsseldorf In NRW there are now 12 cities and districts above the threshold of more than 100 new corona infections. Solingen is at the top with an incidence value of 197.7. An overview of the cities that are particularly affected.
The trend in NRW is negative, the number of corona cases is increasing: according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) in NRW, a total of 15,703 new cases have been reported in the last seven days. In the last week, 87.5 new infections were known per 100,000 inhabitants. In the previous week, even lower numbers were recorded, at which time the RKI reported 10,097 new infections in seven days. (Stand: October 24, 2020).
There are now 12 cities and districts on the threshold of more than 100 new corona infections. The most severely affected area in NRW is Solingen. 197.8 new infections were confirmed per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days. The North Rhine-Westphalia authorities must issue more rules for public life for the 50 values. This now applies to almost all cities and districts in the NRW.
In Düsseldorf the value fell to 80.1 on Saturday. The city’s health department reported even higher numbers. The city of Düsseldorf has been a risk zone since October 13.
In clinics in North Rhine-Westphalia, 295 Covid patients are currently being treated in the intensive care unit, 133 of whom need to be ventilated. A total of 1,599 of the 5244 intensive care beds are available in the country’s hospitals.
On the RKI chart with red warning fields increasing daily, there are more and more dark red “hot spots” with an incidence value greater than 100. The ten cities and municipalities with the highest values for the seven-day incidence can be seen here:
- Solingen it remains at the top in NRW with a value of 197.8. It has increased compared to the previous day. The city has applied to the Bundeswehr for help.

- Duisburg 151.8 The number of corona cases in Duisburg has increased tremendously for days. Meanwhile, it is also mandatory to wear a mask in pedestrian areas and shopping streets.
- Remscheid 141.0 19 Remscheid patients suffering from Covid-19 are currently being treated at the hospital. Six patients are in the intensive care unit.
- Herne 140.6
- Gelsenkirchen 138.7
- Suburb In the Rhine metropolis, the seven-day incidence rose again to 136.8 on Saturday. Mayor Henriette Reker has called Corona’s situation “very serious.” Meetings should only take place in close family circles.
