The announced tightening mainly affects cultural and club events, which were previously allowed with a hygiene concept for up to 200 participants indoors and outdoors for up to 400 participants, even with a higher incidence. Religious services, university events and demonstrations, on the other hand, should still be possible with more participants, according to Söder, even if the incidence value is greater than 100. Schools should also remain open if possible; In the restaurant sector, on the other hand, the curfew is brought forward at 9 pm from the value of 100.
Will it soon be a mandatory test for travelers?
“We take Corona seriously,” Söder emphasized. “Everyone has to participate.” The virus is still dangerous. Observing the increase in the number of infections, he said, “It can go away very, very fast.” The Prime Minister also noted that today’s figures are infections from ten days ago. At the same time, Söder tried to be optimistic: “We will challenge Corona again.” Söder announced a bonus of 500 euros for employees of the health service. The Prime Minister also wants to introduce mandatory tests for commuters from foreign corona hotspots. Anyone who has been in a risk zone within 14 days prior to entry and moves to Germany for work, therefore, in the future, they will need to submit a negative corona test once a week. “Our goal is for borders to remain open,” Söder emphasized. But you have to guarantee more security.
Schulze: Söder should “do his own homework”
The leader of the parliamentary group of the Bavarian Greens, Katharina Schulze, accused the prime minister of using the Corona crisis for his own profile. It is bold to stand with your legs spread and give advice to other federal states, although there are also problems in Bavaria. Instead of pointing out others, Söder has to do his own homework.
“We all have to be team players at Corona,” emphasized Schulze. It is also contradictory if Söder calls for more rules at the national level one day and announces a new level at the crown light for Bavaria the next. Schulze renewed his demand that important restrictions on public life finally be debated and decided in the state parliament. So far, incidence values 35 and 50 have led to more severe restrictions in Bavaria.
