Trump later complained via Twitter that the interview with renowned television journalist Lesley Stahl was “bogus” and “partisan” and that he was therefore considering publishing it ahead of the broadcast scheduled for next Sunday. CNN wrote, citing two sources, that Trump sat with Stahl for 45 minutes and the interview suddenly ended. The reason she said was that she had enough material for the show. Trump’s campaign manager Jason Miller denied an accident and spoke of “fake news.” “Without drama, the interview did not end abruptly,” Miller quoted CBS as saying.
Interview scheduled as a special edition
In less than two weeks, on November 3, a new president of the United States will be elected. The program “60 Minutes” is one of the most successful formats on American television. The interview is scheduled to be part of a “60 Minutes” special this Sunday about Republican Trump and his Democratic challenger Joe Biden. Stahl, a 78-year-old television journalist, has worked for “60 Minutes” since 1991. According to information from CBS, he had his first television interview with Trump in 2016 after his election victory. In 2018 he interviewed him again.

Stahl was wearing a mask when he entered the White House and greeted the president, according to CBS. He removed his mask before the interview when he had enough distance. Regarding the clip published by Trump, in which the journalist can be seen without a mask, CBS said that Stahl spoke with employees of his crew and that they all tested negative for the coronavirus on Tuesday.
Trump: critical reports are always “fake news”
Trump, who contracted Covid-19 himself earlier in the month, almost never wears mouth and nose protection. Furthermore, he has repeatedly made false verifiable statements about face masks and the coronavirus. The president of the United States describes the media that criticize him as “enemies of the people” and his reports as “fake news.” He regularly accuses the American media of not tackling Biden as strongly as he does. On Fox News, close to him, Trump is allowed to explain his view of things with almost no contradiction.
Trump had already reacted highly irritated to repeated questions from NBC television journalist Savannah Guthrie last week. The US media later wrote that Trump was frankly “questioned.” Guthrie was not satisfied with some of Trump’s responses and questioned or corrected Trump’s statements objectively.
For example, Trump had claimed that his administration saved two million lives during the crown pandemic. The supposed figure of two million deaths is based on the assumption that the government did not take any action and that the population would not have protected itself.
