Rules for TV duels: Biden and Trump are muted

To avoid another chaotic television duel, the microphones of the president of the United States, Trump, and his rival will be partially silenced during the debate on Thursday. Meanwhile, Trump continues to speak of an early end to the crown pandemic.

In the latest debate between the president of the United States, Donald Trump, and his challenger Joe Biden, the organizers want to guarantee a battle of words regulated with a button of silence. One candidate’s microphone would be muted at the beginning of each 15-minute block of topics so the other could give his two-minute keynote address without being interrupted by his opponent, the US election debate said. Then both microphones would be turned back on to allow discussion between the candidates.

Trump’s campaign team rejected the change. “President Trump has taken it upon himself to debate Joe Biden, regardless of last minute changes to the bias commission rules, to give his favorite candidate an advantage,” said Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien. Biden’s campaign team did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The first duel at the end of September was chaotic. The two applicants insulted each other multiple times, and Trump in particular had repeatedly interrupted Biden. The final television game in Nashville, Tennessee, USA is scheduled for Thursday night (local time).

Trump vows to end the pandemic soon

About two weeks before the US election, Trump is raising his spirits against renowned health experts and critical reports of pandemics in many outlets. “People are fed up with the pandemic,” the Republican said in an election campaign in the southwestern state of Arizona. “The pandemic will end soon,” he promised his followers, although this contradicts current development in the United States, where the number of new infections has recently increased.

According to media reports, Trump had severely berated immunologist Anthony Fauci and accused him of errors in handling the pandemic. “The guy is a mess,” Trump said, according to the New York Times, in a phone call with his campaign team. “People are sick of listening to Fauci and those idiots, all those idiots who made mistakes.”

According to CNN, Trump said with a view to Fauci: “If he had listened, we would have 500,000 dead.” Trump did not deny the reports. He wrote on Twitter: “All I ask of Tony is to make better decisions.” In the United States, a country of around 330 million inhabitants, more than 220,000 people have died after being infected by the coronavirus. Since the pandemic began, more than 8.2 million people in the United States have contracted the virus. The number of new infections recently rose back to around 50,000 per day.
