Young men missing after a camping trip: “state of unconsciousness”

Two young men have not returned after a weekend in the forest. Police believe both were senseless at the time of their disappearance.

Police in southern Hesse are searching for two missing youths after a trip in a tent to the forest near Birkenau. According to police, the two men left with two friends on Friday, but did not return on Sunday.

The other two friends stopped camping on Saturday, Nico N., 18, and Henri H., 19, stayed in the woods. According to the investigations carried out so far, the police assume that the two men were in a state of reluctance at the time of their disappearance. The police did not provide further information.

Several tracks have not yet led to success

Witnesses likely saw the two on Sunday afternoon on the B9 hiking trail near Birkenau. It is said that one of them was not wearing shoes. Also, the fishing hut and the so-called French cross in the forest near Schnorrenbach could be identified as starting points. Another clue led back to the Birkenau community. However, the men have yet to be found.

The police issued the following personal descriptions:

  • Henri H. is 198 cm tall, slim, has brown eyes and long curly dark blonde hair. He is probably wearing a black jacket with the words “Northface” and a black and white checkered “Carhartt” cap.
  • Nico S. is 180 cm tall, has short brown hair and a beard. He is said to be dressed in a dark blue sweatshirt and black sweatpants.
