Remake of the women’s march: thousands of people demonstrate against Donald Trump

Thousands of people in the United States have participated in protests against President Donald Trump and for women’s rights. Young women in particular joined the demonstrations that took place in various cities across the country.

The protests were inspired by the first Women’s March after Trump’s inauguration in 2017, when more than three million people participated. This time, however, significantly less was produced due to the corona pandemic.

Rachel O’Leary Carmona, president of the Women’s March, said that Trump’s presidency started with women protesting, “now it will end with women’s votes.”

Many participants again wore the symbol of the Women’s March, the so-called kitty hat, alluding to Trump’s declaration that he could grab women by the crotch at any time. Others wore white collars. A reference to the late left-liberal Supreme Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
