northFollowing the alleged terrorist murder of a teacher near Paris, the French prosecutor has revealed more details about the crime. The alleged perpetrator, Abdullah A., was born in Moscow in 2002 and is of Russian and Chechen origin, anti-terrorist prosecutor Jean-François Ricard said on Saturday.

He has had refugee status in France since the spring and has not yet been detected by the secret service. Therefore, the police arrested him and shot him shortly after the crime in nearby Éragny. The man was armed with a knife and an airsoft pistol.

In the immediate vicinity of the crime scene in the suburb of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, the police also found a blood-stained knife about 30 centimeters long. The victim, a 47-year-old history teacher, had numerous injuries to her upper body and head and was found beheaded, Ricard said. I was on my way home from school. The perpetrator ambushed him.

The prosecutor said the attack was preceded by threats against the teacher and the school. At the beginning of October, the teacher had shown the corresponding pictures in class as part of the debate on freedom of expression and the publication of cartoons of Muhammad in the satirical newspaper “Charlie Hebdo”. Then a parent posted posts on social media, complained to the school leadership, and mobilized against the teacher.

The alleged perpetrator posted a photo of the dead victim online after the fact. “I executed one of your hellhounds who dared to discredit Mohammed,” the prosecutor quoted from the tweet. Investigators assume a terrorist attack. French President Emmanuel Macron had spoken of an act of Islamist terrorism.
