Tourists from Corona’s risk areas in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania no longer have to be quarantined for several days from the middle of next week, but only have to fulfill one condition. Only four countries now adhere to controversial travel restrictions.

After the prime minister’s meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) on Wednesday, Schwesig had promised a relaxation, but attached conditions.
The regulation now agreed with a negative test, which should not be older than 48 hours, is considered a compromise. The courts of Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg had confirmed this procedure, so the state government can expect a similar decision from the Higher Administrative Court of Greifswald.
The Greifswald court had announced that it would decide earlier in the week on three urgent requests against quarantine rules in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It was not clear at first whether the applications could be withdrawn.
According to the tourism industry, the entry regulations for visitors to Corona hotspots in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania amounted to an accommodation ban. The industry, which was on the rise again in the summer season after the crown-related full stop of travel in the spring in the Northeast, suffered a setback in the fall.
Tourists, especially from Berlin, were absent because the number of infections in the federal capital at the beginning of the autumn holidays exceeded the critical mark of 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in a week. Even from other risk areas in Germany, vacationers stayed away despite early bookings. The regional tourism association places the loss in sales between 60 and 80 million euros.

In Baden-Wuerttemberg, Lower saxony Y Brandenburg The courts annulled the regulation for the time being. the Saar suspended the accommodation ban as of Friday, in Saxony Y Bayern it was canceled effective Saturday.
