In the capital, the number of infections continues to grow enormously: more and more districts exceed the incidence value of 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days. For this reason, last week a curfew was introduced for shops, bars and restaurants from 11 pm to 6 am.Meanwhile, however, the curfew has been revoked again by the Berlin administrative court, at least for eleven gastronomic women. They had made urgent motions against the decision because, in their opinion, there was no compelling reason for the closure of the restaurants. The prohibition of alcohol after 11pm continues to apply for now.
The Senate noted that only the eleven restaurateurs could refer to the decision. The hotel and restaurant association assumes that many hosts will be open longer. Meanwhile, the city has appealed to the Higher Administrative Court and is trying to enforce the curfew in Berlin. However, the court initially rejected the objection.
Hamburg
While in Berlin pubs are visited again after 11 at night, Hamburg today tightened its measures. As of Saturday, there is now a curfew from 11 pm to 5 am Failure to comply could result in a fine of 5,000 euros. The Senate announced that there was also a blanket ban on the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages during the same period. In reality, a hardening was only expected when the limit value was exceeded, which is set at 50 infections per 100,000 inhabitants in a week. But they wanted to act early, he said. After a correction, the value is currently 42.2.
The number of participants in private parties will also be further restricted. Only a maximum of 15 people are allowed inside your own apartment. So far, the number has been 25. Outside your own home, only meetings with up to 25 people are allowed.
Furthermore, the mask requirement will be expanded in Hamburg from next week: pupils from vocational schools, as well as from the higher levels of general education schools, will have to wear mouth and nose protection in class.
Unlike most other federal states, the lodging ban remains in effect for now. This ruled the administrative court in an urgent decision.
North Rhine-Westphalia
North Rhine-Westphalia is currently the state with the most corona cases in absolute numbers. Regardless of this, the country did not even implement the accommodation ban. To do this, in turn, a mandatory curfew will be introduced between 11 pm and 6 am for restaurants in all municipalities with a high number of new corona infections.
Prime Minister Armin Laschet is also convinced that reducing social contacts is the key to success in the fight against the second crown wave. For this reason, the state government ordered greater contact restrictions in public spaces to a maximum of five people in hotspots with more than 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in a week. The Federal Government and the Prime Minister had agreed to a maximum of ten people. But NRW will keep five people, Laschet stressed.
Bayern
Bavaria currently has the highest incidence value of all federal states with 584 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. However, the state government let the controversial traveler accommodation ban at Corona hotspots expire. The country has also tilted the visitor limit for outdoor worship services with a view to the All Saints holiday.
Baden-Wuerttemberg
Baden-Württemberg is also one of the countries hardest hit by the coronavirus and has the third highest number of reported infections. The court struck down a ban on accommodation. More stringent measures apply, for example regarding the mask requirement. Starting Monday, fifth graders must also wear masks in class. According to the Ministry of Culture, the obligation applies from an incidence of 7 days at the national level of more than 35 and, therefore, comes into force as of next week.
