Anthony Fauci: Virologist Calls for Removal of Trump’s Election Commercial

American immunologist Anthony Fauci no longer wants to be used to campaign for US President Donald Trump. His campaign team should remove a video in which his remarks were taken out of context and which he never acceded to, Fauci said in an interview with “CNN” station. The election commercial was “unhappy and really disappointing.”

The 30-second clip is about how Trump and his administration deal with the pandemic. In it, Fauci says, “I can’t imagine anyone can do more.” The statement appears to be related to Trump. However, this is not true, as Fauci has made clear.

“In my nearly five decades of service to the people, I have never announced a political candidate,” said America’s leading infectious disease expert.

The Trump campaign, however, defends the use of the quote. The statement was “correct and comes directly from Fauci’s mouth,” spokesman Tim Murtaugh said Sunday. Even during a Senate appearance, Fauci gave the president a good report card for dealing with the pandemic.

Trump continues election campaign without a mask

The White House strategy on the virus has come under fire since the outbreak of the pandemic. More recently, the president had become infected and has been spreading dubious messages again since he was released from the hospital.

White House doctors had testified to him after his Covid 19 illness that he was “completely” healthy. “That means I can’t get it (immune) and I can’t pass it on,” the president said, continuing his campaign without a mask.

He threw masks at the crowd at an event at a Florida airport. “I’ve been through it now. They say I’m immune. I feel so powerful,” Trump told thousands of supporters, most of whom stood shoulder to shoulder without a mask.

Masks, hand washing, distance

In the face of Trump’s campaign appearance, Fauci reiterated his criticism: The United States would face “great difficulties” if it did not promote the use of masks and avoid mass concentrations.

The rapidly growing number of infections in the United States can be avoided by known means: universal use of masks, maintaining physical distance, avoiding gatherings or crowds, frequent hand washing and doing things outdoors rather than indoors, Fauci repeated.
