The North Frisian district is urgently looking for all the guests who visited a restaurant on Sylt last weekend. Among the many guests at the party was a man who was infected with Covid-19. The first ones already responded.

So far, the circle has spoken of a great response. Since Saturday night, about 200 people have called the district by phone. In addition, 50 emails were received. The health department will attempt to evaluate all inquiries today, a district spokesperson said, and will reach out to relevant people as soon as possible with an invitation to a corona test. The first tests should take place on Monday, he said.

Man tests positive for Corona after visiting bistro

Reason for calling the district: On Sylt, a man tested positive for the corona virus in the middle of the week. The Nordfriesland district later identified the contact persons. It turned out the man had gone to a popular restaurant in Westerland before the positive test result, which may not have properly adhered to the rules of distance and hygiene. According to his account, between 70 and 100 people were in the restaurant at the same time. Therefore, the district is looking for all the people who have also visited the restaurant. “This party could be a high-profile event. That is why it is so important that we reach everyone involved as quickly as possible,” said Nina Rahder, head of the department of safety, health and veterinary at the North Friesland District Administration.

“American Bistro” in Westerland

Therefore, Husum’s health department urges everyone to report who was at the “American Bistro”, Paulstrasse 3 in Westerland, from 11:30 pm on October 3-4, 2020. The line can be reached Directly from the health department on weekends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on 0800 200 66 22. The health department will contact all informed contacts on Sunday afternoon. The hotline is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm

There is no penalty for incorrect contact details

Because the restaurant operator was only able to provide incomplete and largely incorrect lists of contact details, not all individuals can yet be identified. Alternatively, the correct contact details (name, address, phone number, time of visit) can be sent by email to [email protected]. As announced by the circle, in this case a fine for incorrect contact details is waived. “The only important thing now is to stop the spread of the virus,” Rehder said.
