Michael Wendler left the DSDS jury in a completely surprising way. Soon after, the comments on Twitter piled up. An advertising partner from Schlagerbarden also talks and works out.
On Thursday night, Michael Wendler announced to his fans that he would be leaving the jury around Poptitan Dieter Bohlen. “I will be withdrawing as a jury with immediate effect from participating in the American Idol program. This is a decision I made here and now,” he said in a video on Instagram.
The sudden end of the DSDS caused a sensation. Because the pop singer justified his step with a series of confusing theses and alleged faults of the federal government: “I accuse the federal government (…) of serious violations of the constitution,” he said. He is concerned about the “alleged corona pandemic” and the steps Germany has taken to contain the Sars-Cov-2 virus.
“Everything doesn’t make sense”
Soon after, the comments on Twitter piled up. The #Wendler hashtag quickly became number one among the trends in Germany. Many fans have questions, they even suspect that there is a joke behind them. “Let’s keep it short: if Wendler is serious, his career is dead,” wrote one user on Twitter, for example.
Wow, the story of #MichaelWendler Sounds like an April Fool joke. He has built a lot this year. Are you aware that this is ruining your career? Kaufland’s place will disappear faster than it came 🙈#Wendler #RTL

Let’s keep it short: should it be #Wendler Seriously, his career is dead, no television appearances, no record company, no advertising. All current offers would be canceled. None of this makes sense. You need every penny.

Even if the current Instagram story must be a joke, it is not funny.
Of the #Wendler then it breaks even more than ever

Above all, users feel sorry for Kaufland. Because the supermarket chain had recently run a commercial featuring the self-proclaimed “German King of Pop.” The 48-year-old chirped in a nearly two-minute clip, among other things: “In Kaufland on the shelf / I can find what I need / And there are also tender vegetables …” His wife Laura Müller fainted. In the video, the 20-year-old sat in a tiny white dress on a pile of corn cans and smiled at the camera.
Good dear @kaufland – Marketing team, they really couldn’t spend your advertising budget bigger than you #Wendler for your new advertising campaign. 😉 Do you have aluminum foil in packs of thousands? : D #Kaufland

Imagine that you are @kaufland and hires the #Wendler for a self-criticism campaign. Very daring.
Now imagine, shortly after the Wendler comes out like an aluminum hat and Naidoo 2.0 and the whole campaign falls apart.
My condolences to the marketing people.– Tob1as (@meinungsesel) October 8, 2020
Kaufland has since removed the video. Neither the commercial on YouTube nor other Instagram posts can be found on the supermarket chain’s social media channels. The company has now also commented this on Twitter: “Our video with Michael Wendler was about fun and irony. However, the limit is reached when people play with the safety and health of people. That is why we have all the content of Wendler erased and distanced us from his statements. “
For this step, the supermarket chain is held online. “Now praise and not just scorn and mock here: As quickly as Kaufland removed all of Wendler’s content, someone understands crisis management on social media and acts consistently,” someone wrote on Twitter.
In “Pocher – Dangerously Honest” Thursday night Coach Markus Krampe explained the background live on television.
