Outburst of anger in the no-risk zone: most Berliners have to pay for the city center – Berlin

Warning: Concern journalism is a reprehensible thing that should be avoided in almost all circumstances. The words of Hans-Joachim Friedrichs, according to which a good journalist can be recognized by the fact that “he is there everywhere, but he does not belong anywhere” apply without change and remain valid forever. However, they do not apply to this text, the author of which will likely be included tomorrow and is therefore no longer included anywhere.

At least not during the autumn holidays, which start at the weekend and which we should spend in Germany on the recommendation of the Federal Minister of Health. Specifically, that could mean: In its own four walls, because hardly anyone in Germany wants to accommodate us anymore. According to the latest public health projections, Berlin as a city as a whole has just passed the critical mark of 50 new infections per week and 100,000 inhabitants.

By this criteria, as of Thursday night, four districts are already corona risk areas. In other words: there are not yet eight districts. Around two million people live there, most of whom live very consciously in areas a little more airy than in the city center.

When hundreds of people get drunk in James-Simon-Park at night or 300 people have a wedding in Neukölln, the risk of infection beyond the Müggelberge or on the western bank of the Havel remains relatively low; the numbers prove it.

Health department soldiers are not an attack on their own biotope

You are more likely to be out and about in your own car, not surrounding the police as an “angry mob”, and not seeing unarmed Bundeswehr soldiers speaking on the phone in the health department as an attack on sovereignty of its own biotope.

What one perceives as an attack, however, are the urgent efforts of the Senate, which is dominated by residents of the risk zone, to see all of Berlin as one unit. If the Senate complies with your request to the Federal Ministry of Health, it also triggers the fall vacation plans of those who live in Corona’s U40 areas and stay away from Corona hotspots with a good 24-hour head start.

A plausible explanation for this ambition has yet to be heard. Will Söder send us blue helmets or a billion to the European Central Bank or free masks to China or what? Not that one knows. Under the current state of affairs, the only consequence would be that everyone would really have to serve up the sour soup that a minority has given them.

The Christmas kids and their families from the outskirts say thank you for the lost Christmas fun and promise they won’t be forgetting the Senate any time soon.
