Bochum.
Due to an accident, the A40 near Bochum-Hamme is still completely closed on Tuesday morning. A special crane works at the scene of the accident.

After a truck accident in the A40 to Bochum the highway is still closed. Drivers veer off the motorway onto Dorstener Strasse. Now there is a special crane in place to work at the accident site. The damaged concrete middle rail is loaded onto trucks. The fire brigade has already withdrawn.

The complete closure in the direction of Dortmund should continue into the afternoon. In the direction of Essen, the road should be accessible a little earlier in a single lane, according to the police. There is no exact time yet.

A truck had that morning heading to Dortmund Central barrier and broke the concrete barrier. Debris spread across the lanes in both directions. Other vehicles were damaged when they ran over the rubble.

Therefore the highway was at the Bochum-Hamme junction around 6:15 am locked in both directions.
This caused traffic jams in the city area.

One person was slightly injured, according to police. “A lot of people got lucky today,” the fire department said.

The lockdown is still in progress

According to the police, the confinement will continue for some time. The concrete parts are still being cleaned. (red / B.KI.)
