The “decentralized actions” against the “infrastructure” of the police and the state are better than sit-ins. “An evacuation attempt against us will involve a lot of material and police, who must first be transported. Police imposed a ban on demonstrations in parts of Liebigstrasse and Rigaer Strasse on Thursday and Friday. Also, cars and trash cans can no longer stand there. To prevent protesters from sitting in the streets, police are expected to set up barriers in the vicinity of Liebigstrasse on Thursday.
According to the police, only one demonstration was officially registered on Monday: on Friday starting at 3:00 am with 50 participants at the nearby Bersarinplatz. However, numerous protesters were already able to gather in Friedrichshain’s so-called Nordkiez on Thursday evening. Similar protests broke out when the “Syndikat” pub in Neukölln was evicted in August.
After a ten-year commercial lease expired, a court upheld the handover of the home to the owner. A sheriff had informed residents that he would show up on October 9 at 7:00 am to take over the house.
