New infections at school, daycare and hospital

Identification of contact persons is still ongoing in some cases. A total of 61 people in the Viersen district are currently infected.

27 new corona virus infections were reported in the Viersen district from Saturday to Monday. Two of the newly infected are patients at the St. Irmgardis Hospital in Viersen-Süchteln; a student at the Erasmus-von-Rotterdam-Gymnasium in Viersen tested positive, as did an educator at the kindergarten on Gehlingsweg in Süchteln.

According to the district, determination of potential contact persons is ongoing in all of these cases. A teacher at the Nettetal-Breyell community elementary school is also infected. Because the hygiene concept has been met, no school contacts need to be quarantined, the district reports.

Currently 61 people are considered infected in the Viersen district. The number of new confirmed cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days increases from eleven to 17.

In Viersen There are currently 20 infected people (190 recovered, five died) in Nettetal eight people (93 recovered, two died), in Brüggen two people (29 recovered), in Schwalmtal also two (49 recovered, two dead) and in Niederkrüchten one person is currently infected (90 recovered, eleven died).
