S04 takes over part of the salary
FC Schalke 04 and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have apparently agreed to a trade over Sebastian Rudy in recent hours. According to “Sport1”, the 30-year-old is currently on his way to TSG, where he was on loan between 2010 and 2017 and last season. Even now, the 29-time national player, who remains linked to Schalke until 2022, will be loaned out, and his usual club will take over part of the 6 million salary.
Rudy was last used at Schalke as a right back, also because there is no regular right back at the bottom of the Bundesliga squad. Silvan Widmer of FC Basel could solve this problem. Transfermarkt can confirm information from the “Fußballtransfers” portal that the 27-year-old is a candidate in Gelsenkirchen.
The Swiss international returned from Udinese to his home country in the summer of 2018, he still has a contract in Basel until 2022 and could strengthen Schalke on Deadline Day. So far, Danny da Costa (27) from Eintracht Frankfurt has been the candidate for the right-back position in S04.
