As a Briton, what do you think of your prime minister’s performance?

Managing editor Frankfurter Allgemeine Quarterly.

A nightmare. My biggest fears are that if there is a hard Brexit, there will be unrest in Northern Ireland, that Scotland and Northern Ireland will separate and the UK will suffer irreparable damage. I hope that in the end it is not as bad as many fear, and that the German-British relationship remains good.

He became a British citizen on March 25, 2019. Why was it so important to you?

It was really important to me in my teens, but my English mother resisted because she rightly suspected that I was trying to avoid the Bundeswehr, which was very important to my German father. Later I had other priorities, but recently I turned more to England, I wanted to show my son my origins – and after the death of my grandmother and my mother, citizenship now brings me a little closer to the country, that to me. it belongs like Germany too.
