Coronavirus: mask rejects attack bus drivers in Spiegelau

In a dispute over crown masks, several men attacked a bus driver in Spiegelau, Lower Bavaria. According to police, the driver asked the men to wear mouth and nose protection on the bus due to the corona virus. When some of the men refused, the driver threw the group off the bus.

This led to a fight: two or three men attacked the bus driver and tried to pull him out of the driver’s door window. However, this attempt failed: the men fled. The driver suffered minor injuries in Saturday’s incident and the bus was damaged.

Investigations have been launched into dangerous bodily harm, insults, property damage and violations of the Infection Protection Act.

30,000 fines for violation of corona measures

The fight on the bus is an isolated incident. In Germany’s most populous cities, according to a survey by “Welt am Sonntag”, more than 30,000 fine procedures have been initiated for violations of Crown measures. At the end of September, the breakdown was as follows:

This results in a total of 33,500 recorded fine procedures. There are also procedures in Suburbwhere, however, only estimates of the amount of income that can be expected are available. The Rhine metropolis expects around 430,000 euros. For Munich, 1.2 million euros are named. For Frankfurt and Düsseldorf, revenues are estimated at 275,000 and 112,000 euros.
