In North Rhine-Westphalia, citizens voted for mayors and district administrators in second-round elections in almost 130 municipalities. In Düsseldorf, the CDU candidate replaces the SPD mayor. Dortmund remains a stronghold of the SPD. Mönchengladbach now has a 31-year-old mayor.
