Hertha BSC: That’s behind the letters on the “for Pauline” shirt – Bundesliga

Hertha BSC’s heartfelt campaign

The club from the capital city participates in the match against Eintracht Frankfurt (here in BILD Live Ticker) with the words “for Pauline” and two small prints on the shirt. Objective: to raise awareness for the registration as a stem cell donor in the DKMS.

The background: Eight-month-old Pauline was diagnosed with blood cancer in January after her birth, a so-called myeloid leukemia in a particularly aggressive and high-risk form.

Countless people, including infants and children, depend on a stem cell donation to survive. Pauline’s story shows how important it is that as many people as possible register so lives can be saved. We are happy to be able to make a contribution with the special flocking of our jersey, ”said Paul Keuter (Hertha management) in a press release.

Pauline’s father explains: “We would never have expected Pauline to now be represented on the jersey at the home game for all those who are ill to draw attention to this important issue.”

The goal is for as many people as possible to register as donors. Hertha coach Bruno Labbadia (54) and coach Michael Preetz (53) have already done so.

Hertha is the only club in the Bundesliga that does not have a jersey sponsor. In the first league game he competed without any imprint on his chest, in the cup with a Berlin bear.
