A 20-year-old turned himself in to the police after allegedly causing an accident on the A60 near Rüsselsheim the night before, then fled on foot. That’s what the police said.
The man’s car collided with a pickup truck Wednesday night. According to police, the driver involved in the accident had previously drawn attention due to a risky driving style. He passed several vehicles on the shoulder at high speed.
The man’s car and truck were badly damaged in the collision. The 20-year-old is said to have fled down the highway into an adjacent industrial park. A helicopter was also used in the search for the man. In the morning, the 20-year-old appeared before the police in Wiesbaden. A previous drug test was positive.
The driver of the truck, 57, was slightly injured in the accident. According to the police, the damages amount to around 24,000 euros.
