Antonio Rüdiger at Chelsea – Liverpool is not in the team

Bad surprise for Antonio Rüdiger.

The German national team player is not on the call for the top game of the English Premier League against Liverpool (Chelsea FC – Liverpool FC from 5.30pm on LIVETICKER).

This is initially reported by various English media such as the Telegraph and the Daily mail, Chelsea confirmed the reports with a tweet.

Rüdiger is probably fully fit, but coach Frank Lampard decided not to include the 27-year-old in the squad.

Lampard doesn’t trust Rüdiger

In the first game against Brighton he was on the squad, but was not used. Lampard started with Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen in central defense, and the duo also play against the Reds.

With Thiago Silva, who came from Paris Saint-Germain, now there is another defense ready. However, Silva is not yet on the roster either.

Rüdiger had recently convinced Timo Werner as a “decoy”, but in sporting terms, Lampard prefers several competitors. The English media now even speculate that Rüdiger’s future in London is in doubt.

Thiago on the Liverpool bench

Werner, like Kai Havertz, is in the starting lineup. Former Bayern flirt Callum Hudson-Odoi sits on the bench. Fikayo Tomori and César Azpilicueta are still there as defenders.

In Liverpool, Jürgen Klopp relies on Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah on offense as usual. In central defense, Fabinho runs alongside Virgil van Dijk while Joe Gómez and Joel Matip are injured.

The rookie Thiago is already sitting on the bench, something surprising. The transfer of the former FC Bayern midfielder was perfect on Friday.

Before the game, however, Klopp was even asked if Thiago was an option for the starting eleven. “I didn’t think for a second to bring it in from the beginning,” Klopp said. Heaven: “It’s a lot of fun that people consider that.”

There may be similarities in the way Bayern and Liverpool play, but “he definitely played in a different position. No matter where he plays for us, it will be different. So there was no chance.”
