Young Slovenian Tadej Pogacar led compatriot Primoz Roglic to the top of the overall standings in the mountain time trial of the 107th Tour de France and is on the verge of claiming the overall victory. The 21-year-old won the time trial on Saturday after an impressive 36.2 kilometer ride from Lure to La Planche des Belles Filles, leaving Roglic 1:56 minutes behind.

Pogacar heads to the last stage to Paris with a minute of advantage, where traditionally the yellow jersey is no longer attacked. The winner of the Vuelta, Roglic, climbed to the twentieth and penultimate stage with a 57-second cushion. But from mile to mile Pogacar caught up.

The 21st and last stage begins on Sunday in Mantes-la-Jolie and ends after 122 kilometers on the Champs-Élysées. There should be another massive sprint there. Due to the increasing number of corona infections, only 5000 spectators are allowed in the finish area.
