Compared to other European countries, Germany is still doing well in terms of crown number development. But with nearly 2,300 new infections, the situation is deteriorating. Some municipalities tightened restrictions.
In Germany, the number of new registered coronavirus infections once again clearly exceeded the 2000 threshold and reached the highest value since the end of April. In one day, German health authorities reported 2,297 new cases of corona, as announced by the Robert Koch Institute. The peak of new infections reported daily was over 6,000 in late March / early April.
According to the RKI, at least 270,070 people in this country have been shown to have been infected with the Sars-CoV-2 virus since the beginning of the Corona crisis. Therefore, the number of deaths related to a corona infection is 9384; there have been six more deaths since the day before. By Thursday morning, about 239,800 people had survived the infection.
The R value has also increased
According to RKI estimates in Germany, based on Friday’s management report, the number of views, or R-value for short, was 1.16 (previous day: 1.07). This means that one infected person infects slightly more than one other person on average. The R value represents the infection rate approximately one and a half weeks earlier. Additionally, the RKI gives a seven-day R on its current status report. The value refers to a longer period and is therefore less subject to daily fluctuations. According to RKI estimates, this value was 1.21 (previous day: 1.15). It shows the infection process for eight to 16 days.
Various cities and districts tear the limit values
Some cities and counties exceeded the critical limit for new infections of more than 50 cases per 100,000 residents in seven days. Munich is affected, for example. The city reached a value of 50.7 yesterday, according to statistics from the State Office of Health and Food Safety, which are updated daily. The development had consequences for the opening match of the new Bundesliga season between Bayern Munich and Schalke 04. Contrary to expectations, it took place in the Munich stadium without spectators. Initially, no further tightening of the crown’s rules is planned in the city.
The limit was also exceeded in other Bavarian regions. The city of Würzburg (70.38), the city of Kaufbeuren (61.51), the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district (58.78) and the Kulmbach district (50.11) are particularly affected.
Stricter crown rules in the Cloppenburg district
In the Cloppenburg district of Lower Saxony, additional restrictions now apply to public life in some communities. Since yesterday, a maximum of six people have been allowed to meet privately until October 4. Associations are prohibited from holding meetings, restaurants must close at 10 pm Schools had been closed previously.
The city of Löningen and the communities of Essen, Lastrup and Lindern are affected by the restrictions, as district manager Johann Wimberg said. The district had reported 61.5 new infections per 100,000 residents in the past week.
Experts develop rules for vaccine distribution
