Bayern are picking up where they left off last season: the record soccer champions beat Schalke 04 8-0 (3-0) in the opening game of the new Bundesliga season. Serge Gnabry with a hat trick (4, 47, 59), Leon Goretzka (19), Robert Lewandowski (31), Thomas Müller (69), Leroy Sané (71) and Jamal Musiala (81)) scored the goals. Schalke’s team collapsed in the second half, it is the second highest defeat in Schalke’s Bundesliga history.
The Gelsenkircheners’ goal danger was limited to the first minute of the game: Gonçalo Paciência put Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to the test with a shot from the left side of the area. The German national goalkeeper was lucky that his defense hit the front of Niklas Süle’s legs, not inside, but next to the goal. Should Bayern show their first weaknesses after winning the Champions League?
Gnabry and Sané play excellently

The Schalke defense lasted 74 seconds after the break
After the restart, it only took 74 seconds and a fumble from Paciência for the next goal: Benjamin Pavard, Kimmich, Müller, Sané and Gnabry in combination brought the ball from their own in front of the opposing penalty area; Sané got in front of the ferryman, Gnabry completed (46th). The same thing happened before Gnabry’s third goal (59th), again Kimmich had prepared the attack with a deep pass.
Schalke broke, Bayern made magic: after a cross from Rabona from Lewandowski, with his right foot he played the ball behind the leg, Müller struck with a direct shot (69). In another notable pass from Kimmich, Sané pushed his youth club to seventh place (71st). After his change (72º), Sané was in the stands with a big smile.
Because Bayern remained dangerous in the subsequent course. Jamal Musiala, 17, scored his first goal in his second Bundesliga appearance (81st).
