A former adviser to the vice president of the United States, Mike Pence, has made serious accusations against the president of the United States, Donald Trump, in connection with the corona pandemic. Olivia Troye told the Washington Post that Trump’s response to the crisis had shown “total disregard for human life.” Her main concern was the economy and her re-election.
According to the Washington Post, Troye advised Pence on issues like the corona virus until he left in August. In this role, she participated in meetings of the coronavirus task force, chaired by Pence.
In a video posted by the Republican group Voters Against Trump, Troye said about the virus: “In mid-February we knew the question was not whether Covid would be a major pandemic here in the United States, but when. But the president didn’t want to hear that. because his biggest concern was that we were in an election year. ” If Trump had taken the virus seriously, he would have slowed its spread. Trump is running as a Republican candidate on November 3.
Trump: “I don’t have to shake hands anymore”
In the video, Troye quoted Trump from a task force meeting saying, “Maybe this Covid thing is a good thing. I don’t like shaking other people’s hands. I don’t have to shake hands with these horrible people.” Troye said she had been a supporter of the Republicans all her life. But now he will vote for the American Democratic candidate, Joe Biden, “because I really believe that we are in a moment of constitutional crisis. In these circumstances, the country is above the party.”
Pence denied the allegations. Troye’s remarks sounded like those of a disgruntled employee “who decided to do politics in election year,” he said at an event at the White House, according to reporters present. “I couldn’t be more proud of the work we did.”
