In the case of the far-right talk groups in the NRW police force, 30 officers have been temporarily released from their duties. 200 agents went to search several cities, offices and homes of the suspects. As announced by Reul, 43 phones, 19 SIM cards, 21 USB sticks, 20 hard drives, 9 tablets and 9 PCs have been seized, as well as a small amount of narcotics.
When asked why chat groups were not noticed earlier in offices, Reul told the WDR that he currently had no real explanation for it. “I think too often police officers still think they have to cover everything through camaraderie.” Whoever does that, whoever keeps quiet, has to leave the police.
Reul asked officials to report on the far-right talks: “Yes, they have to stick together, they have to trust each other in an emergency. But conversely, everyone has sworn to abide by the laws and the constitution A colleague does not do that, you have to report him, that is also your duty. “
Expert calls for anonymous complaint procedures

Hardly anyone now believes “that we are only dealing with individual cases,” said the Greens’ internal political spokesperson in the Bundestag, Irene Mihalic, of the “Tagesspiegel”. Federal Interior Minister Horst Seehofer (CSU) has so far rejected such studies.
