As a rival for an illegal race on the A66 in Hesse, a man chose a civilian motorway police car. The 39-year-old had passed the patrol in the direction of Rüdesheim with a “striking driving style”, as announced by the Wiesbaden police. Then the officers began the chase.

The driver constantly increased speed in his BMW 7 Series and drove close to other vehicles. “During his journey, the man accelerated to more than 190 at a permitted speed of 100 kilometers per hour and then drove at high speed and screeching tires from the A66 to the tangent to the A643 in the direction of Wiesbaden,” police said.

The patrol managed to pass the car with special signals and stop it in a parking lot in the urban area of Wiesbaden. The 39-year-old man had behaved unreasonably and uncooperatively, police said. The car and driver’s license were confiscated. The man awaits a criminal case due to a prohibited motor vehicle race. The police are still looking for witnesses.
