A Flixbus with travelers from different countries got off the A24 at Wöbbelin and turned over. Three people were seriously injured. The road had to be closed for several hours.

yesIn a serious long-distance bus accident on Autobahn 24 near Wöbbelin in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, 31 people were injured early Saturday morning. The cause of the accident is still being determined, it may be the driver’s microsleep, said a police spokesman in Rostock from the German press agency. The spokesperson said that passengers of different nationalities had been sitting in the vehicle.

The Flixbus company initially confirmed three injuries to the German press agency. All the occupants of the bus, 30 passengers and 2 drivers according to Flixbus, arrived at the hospitals as a precaution. “We can confirm that driving and rest times have been respected,” said a Flixbus spokesman. The bus was on its way between Prague and Hamburg.

The bus went off the road around 5:45 am in the direction of Hamburg between the Wöbbelin and Hagenow junctions and into a ditch.
