Initially, the place of departure and the destination of the bus were unclear. The spokesperson said that passengers of different nationalities had been sitting in the vehicle. The 31 injured reached the nearby hospitals. According to NDR information, three rescue helicopters also headed to the crash site, but were able to turn around and fly back to their bases.
