Suddenly, a man in protective clothing is standing behind presenter Claus Kleber. Viewers are confused and have questions for ZDF. However, the station only refers to another program. What happened there?
On Friday night, Claus Kleber told the audience something about the Berlin Staatskapelle in “heute journal.” As the moderator announced the next contribution, a man suddenly appeared in the background wearing a protective suit with a mask and red gloves.
The intruder moved from left to right and vice versa, gesturing wildly with his arms. Claus Kleber did not seem to notice anything and continued to moderate. A viewer captured the scene and shared it on the network.
The comments quickly piled up on Twitter. The audience had questions. For example, one user wrote: “What just happened?” Another user asked, “What was the guy doing in the background?” Another viewer joked, “Has anyone seen that or do I have to stop drinking?”
There was no resolution. On the other hand. At the end of the show, Claus Kleber said: “Somehow there must have been such strange interruptions in the intro. We are looking into the matter. That looks like art. That is something for ‘aspects’. They clear it up. Here I am I’m sure.”
And indeed: shortly after “aspekte” provided the solution. The masked man behind Claus Kleber is truly the art of Christian Jankowski. With the video footage, the action artist wants to offer so-called systemically important workers a temporary platform through selected television formats during the Corona crisis.
For his “Sender and Receiver” project, the 52-year-old selected several people such as a supermarket salesman, a nurse, a parcel service or a doctor who appear in the background in various television formats. The overall project should be a video of around 16 minutes with ten “angels”. There are already excerpts from “Mittagsmagazin” or “Aspekte”.
