The American was staying at the “Edelweiss Lodge”, a hotel owned by the US Army. There alone it infected 23 other people, according to Scharf.
At least Tuesday night, the super spreader passed through bars (including the “Peaches” cocktail bar) and infected other people. However, there are also indications that he was on a pub tour Monday, district spokesman Scharf said. Maybe he was still in bars on Wednesday.
The problem: the contacts would be very difficult to trace because she had been in many places. The district office expects “numerous follow-up infections.”

On Friday, the district took the first steps with a blanket decree. “We have to shut down the nightlife,” said spokesman Scharf. As of Saturday, the following applies for one week in the municipality of Garmisch-Partenkirchen:
