In France, the number of people infected with corona continues to rise and has reached a new record. Currently, around 1,330 people are infected per day in an average of 7 days, in France the figure is 8600.

For comparison: in Germany, 230 patients are receiving intensive care due to corona. In this country, the increase in the number of infections has not yet caused an increase in the number of patients in hospitals or intensive care units.
Experts urge the government to act
In light of these numbers, the French government’s Scientific Advisory Council is calling on politicians to act. Currently, large gatherings are prohibited. In some cities, masks are mandatory in public places and even on the streets. This Friday, the government wants to discuss more measures to contain the pandemic.
With around 67 million inhabitants, France is one of the countries in Europe most affected by Corona. The previous high was reported in early September with around 9,000 new cases registered in one day; the numbers have been at a similarly high level ever since. In an initial reaction from the German side, the Saarland State Chancellery said in view of possible measures that they saw “no reason” to toughen up.
