According to the authorities, after initial investigations, a truck driver left the Remscheid gas station and rest area around 7 am and headed onto the highway in the direction of Cologne. When in the acceleration lane, an Audi collided with the rear of the truck for reasons that were not yet clear.
Any help came too late for the Audi driver.
