SSince the end of April, according to the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, there have been more than 90 demonstrations against the crown’s measures across the country, and right-wing extremists have set the tone. This stems from a response from the federal government to a small request from the left-wing parliamentary group that is available to the German press agency.
According to the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Saxony-Anhalt was one of the regional focal points for the rallies, often attended by only a few dozen participants. In the eastern federal state, more than a third of all events held or dominated by right-wing extremists took place between April 25 and August 10.
Among the tens of thousands of protesters who protested against the Crown restrictions in Berlin on the last weekend of August, there were also larger groups of so-called Reich citizens with corresponding T-shirts, banners, chants and brochures. Some smaller groups of right-wing extremists and neo-Nazis were also clearly recognizable.
“Dangerous development still underestimated”
Among the participants in the ranks of the AfD were also elected officials belonging to the “wing”, which has now been officially dissolved. The current around the Thuringia AfD head of country, Björn Höcke, is observed by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution as a far-right effort with intelligence media.
