A serious traffic accident with two seriously injured people occurred on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 4.10 pm in Ahlen. A 52-year-old man from Ahlen was driving his car on Walstedder Strasse in the direction of Ahlen. For an inexplicable cause, the driver turned left into oncoming traffic at “Haus Quante” and collided with the car of an oncoming 70-year-old hamster. The 52-year-old man was trapped in his vehicle and had to be released by firefighters. Rescue teams also called in two rescue helicopters, which took the seriously injured to the surrounding accident clinics. Both cars were totaled. The police completely closed Wallstedder Strasse for the duration of the accident. According to initial estimates, there was material damage of 15,000 euros.
