A coach on the way from Bavaria to Berlin and everyone without a mask – that can be expensive.

As none of the passengers wore mouth and nose protection during a check in Upper Palatinate, fines of 8,500 euros are expected to be charged.

Veil investigators at the Mitterteich gas station on the A93 immediately noted Thursday that the 14 passengers were traveling without masks, police said. The Berlin company had transported a group of tourists from a cruise ship in Passau to the capital.

Passengers now expect a fine of 250 euros each, the bus operator 5,000 euros. After the control, the group was able to continue, but this time with a mask.

In Bavaria, due to the corona pandemic, it is generally mandatory to wear a mask on public transport and in all places where the minimum distance of 1.5 meters cannot be maintained. Infractions are sanctioned with 250 euros and in the event of a repeat offense with 500 euros.
