2 hours and 27 minutes before the new Crown regulation came into force in North Rhine-Westphalia, the state government sent it to the municipalities. A chamberlain vented his anger, the SPD took the opportunity to attack.

The extension of the Crown Protection Ordinance is causing unrest in some municipalities in North Rhine-Westphalia, and within the state parliament. However, currently it is not so much the measures themselves that are causing problems. The moment in which the state government led by CDU Prime Minister Armin Laschet presented the measures is causing discontent.

Late night trouble

Martin Murrack, now Duisburg City Treasurer, once an office manager to current SPD Chairman Norbert Walter-Borjans, took the keys on Monday and posted a statement on Facebook: “That’s a real cheek and a great impertinence to everyone who uses the regulation has to implement. ” The reason for the outbreak: The new Corona Protection Ordinance only reached the municipality on Sunday night at 9:33 pm, that is, exactly 2 hours and 27 minutes before it went into effect at midnight.

The uncertainty in schools is enormous, precisely because the requirement of the mask in the classrooms is being eliminated, with which good experiences have been had. “Sorry for my clear words. But this is not the first time such important regulations have been produced in such a short time.”

Kutschaty: “He’s adventurous”

The SPD of the Duisburg administration receives the support of the Social Democrats in the state parliament. The group’s leader, Thomas Kutschaty, told t-online.de: “Communication from the state government often has some papal choice.” It is more of an advertisement than a dialogue and information.

“How are the municipalities supposed to implement all the measures during this time? That’s an adventure,” Kutschaty said. This is not how you can deal with the most important partners in the fight against the virus. The result is “stress, misunderstanding and demotivation.”

On Thursday, the state government decided on a new package of measures to contain the corona pandemic in coordination with the prime ministers of the states and the federal government. The resolutions are implemented in the amended Crown Protection Ordinance. Among other things, it contains new rules for events. The regulation no longer establishes the requirement for masks for students in the classroom.
