Berlin – There are horror images: After a slider accident on Monday night, Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm looked like a field of rubble. Several cars were destroyed, a 45-year-old woman was killed and her 17-year-old daughter seriously injured.

The two women were about to turn left in their Ford Fiesta towards Lehniner Platz around 9:20 p.m. when they were hit by a high-speed BMW, which had apparently been in an illegal race at the time.
The car then flipped over on the driver’s side due to the force of the impact. The BMW was thrown right against three parked cars.
The occupants of the car that caused the accident then fled on foot in the direction of Halensee, Berlin police said.
“My employees provided first aid,” Bild Franco Francucci (50), owner of the restaurant “Francucci’s”, which is located directly at the scene of the accident, told the newspaper: “The driver was unconscious and had to be resuscitated. His teeth and eyes they were broken. Deformed face! Terrible! I am so proud of my employees! ”
The 45-year-old woman had to be resuscitated by rescuers who arrived a little later before she and her daughter could be taken to the hospital for inpatient treatment.

According to police, two other cars are said to have participated in the race and their drivers fled. To clarify the tragic accident, the police called for help and asked:
- Who observed the accident and can indicate where the occupants of the BMW fled?
- Who can provide information about the driver and other occupants of the BMW? Where are you currently?
- Who saw the illegal street race that may have taken place and can provide information about it?
- What other vehicles were involved? Can you give more details (for example, license plate number, make / type and / or occupants)?
- Who else can provide relevant information?
Witnesses who have observed the course of the accident or can provide other relevant information are requested to present themselves at the traffic investigation service of Police Directorate 2 in Alt-Moabit 5a in Moabit with the numbers 0304664272800 or 0304664271100 or in another Police station.
