On Monday evening, a police spokesman announced that around 6.45pm a witness had reported that a lifeless person was lying on Gröpern Street. It was also said that shots had been fired beforehand. According to the police, the emergency services and the emergency doctor tried to resuscitate the person, without success.

A state police helicopter was also used to search for the perpetrators. According to information from MZ, the alleged perpetrator should have escaped by bicycle.

At approximately 8:20 p.m., the helicopter, which was searching the area over the crime scene, the Kleers, the Rosengarten and along the Bode, shut down due to darkness.
