Two cars collide in Berlin

yesA woman and a child were seriously injured in a collision between two cars on Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm. Police said it was the occupants of a small car that overturned Monday night. According to media reports, the injured are mother and daughter; therefore, there was a multi-car race at the Kudamm. Police announced more information for Tuesday.

According to the police, two witnesses to the accident suffered minor injuries. The people in the second vehicle were unharmed. It was not yet clear how many people and cars were involved in total; also the cause of the accident at the corner of Kurfürstendamm and Cicerostraße in Berlin Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf.

“Bild” and “BZ” (online) reported that according to witnesses, it was an illegal race with three participating cars. The drivers of the other two cars fled with their cars. The Berlin fire brigade was at the scene of the accident with 36 emergency services overnight.

According to media reports, the debris from the cars flew 100 meters through the air, two bystanders were hit and injured. The alleged cause of the accident and two other occupants of his car fled on foot.

There have been repeated illegal races on the Kurfürstendamm. In February 2016 there was a collision with a jeep whose traffic light was green. The car was launched 70 meters. The 69-year-old driver died in his car. One of the three speeders was found guilty of murder.
