A video of the arrest of a woman circulates on the Internet. The protester was lying on the ground when a police officer hit her twice. Now the Berlin police comment on it.

reBerlin police are investigating an incident in which a police officer allegedly hit a protester on the back on Saturday. A police spokesman said Monday that it was a complaint and suspicion of bodily harm in office. It will be determined by the commissariat for official crimes at the Berlin State Criminal Police Office (LKA).

Police are aware of videos showing the incident. “Claims that the woman died are not true.”

The woman participated in a forbidden gathering at the Victory Column in the Tiergarten, the spokesperson said. Then she was arrested by the police. She is said to have kicked a police officer in the stomach, the spokesman said.

The woman was slightly injured, but had given up medical treatment. She was released at the scene after her personal details were determined. There will be a police notification about the incident later that day.

Allegations circulated online that the woman died after the operation. Movies on the Internet show her lying half face down on the street, screaming and being held by four policemen.

Initially, the police tried in vain to pull the woman’s arms, which were squeezed under her stomach, behind her back to put the handcuffs on her. Then a police officer hit her forcefully twice in the middle of her upper back between her shoulder blades. Then a policeman pulls her right arm behind her back.
