Berlin police launched a large-scale raid on Thursday morning against criminal members of a Lebanese-born clan. Investigators found four kilograms of cocaine, extenders, 120 grams of the so-called stone cocaine and a sharp firearm.
Four departments and three building complexes containing offices and companies were searched in various proceedings, said Günter Sohnrey, head of the organized drug crime department at the Berlin prosecutor’s office.
The forces arrested four members of a Lebanese-born family: two brothers, his father and uncle. They are said to have operated a cocaine delivery service. In Berlin, this is done using coca cola taxis. Drivers deliver prescription medications to buyers in homes, offices, bars, or clubs. The suspicion of drug trafficking armed as a gang was not insignificant.
Since the early hours of the morning there has been a police force, a special force (SEK) and officials from the State Criminal Police Office. The prosecutor is examining whether an arrest warrant is being filed against the four suspects to place them in custody.
Several apartments or other rooms were searched in different districts of the city. 200 police officers, including experts from the State Criminal Police Office in the area of organized crime, had been on duty since 6 a.m. There should be more information later in the day.

Criminal members of certain large Lebanese and Arab families had been convicted of various crimes in recent years. A clan is also in the public eye due to the temporary confiscation of 77 houses and apartments worth nine million euros in the summer of 2018. In April, a funeral in the vicinity of the clan caused a large-scale deployment of the police and the helicopter because the crown restrictions had to apply.
