Russia is now the new crown access point – B.Z. Sedan

The number of corona infections in Russia is increasing faster than in any other country. The largest country in the world in terms of area with its approximately 144 million inhabitants now ranks second behind the US. USA

In the crisis, the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin (67), has to do with increasing the numbers every day, even his spokesman is infected. The questions are becoming more urgent: is Russia a powerless superpower when it comes to the crown? Did the President make serious mistakes?

More than 10,000 new cases are added every day. And many Russians are also wondering how the numbers can rise massively despite much stricter measures than in Germany. At the same time, the giant empire has one of the lowest death rates: According to statistics, on Wednesday there were only 2,212 deaths from 242,271 infections.

Probably due to low death rates, Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin recently spoke of a successful overall course in the crown crisis. However, he was shocked when he asked to return to work this week. Six weeks of forced vacation has ended.

But there are always new records of new infections. Even Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Putin’s spokesman Dmitri Peskow, the Kremlin’s main spokesman in the crisis, have hired Corona, as has his wife Tatyana Navka.

Putin may have decided that saving the economy was more important, he said. Above all, anti-corruption fighter Alexei Navalny’s opponents of the Kremlin, but also prominent political scientists and economic experts, do not give the president a good testimony in the crisis.

Despite the restrictions, the numbers are increasing

Russia had long lost its initial leadership with relatively few cases. Despite restrictions, the number of infections is increasing sharply, unlike in Germany, for example. Putin preferred to deal with the constitutional amendment and the permanent safeguarding of power rather than the timely fight against the virus. “The mistake has a name and it’s called Vladimir Putin.” The president has failed, according to one of Navalny’s employees.

In Moscow, the largest city in Europe, strict curfews are applied. At no time were there contact bans like in Germany. Especially during the May holidays, many Russians gathered to roast and drink. Doctors complain of lack of discipline in people.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin estimated the number of people actually infected in Moscow at 300,000. However, he let hundreds of thousands of people work on construction sites and industrial plants again this week, wearing mouth guards and gloves.

Critics of the official figures are convinced that anyone who falsifies elections, for example, tampers with medical data. The critical Kremlin newspaper “Novaya Gazeta” analyzed for Moscow that the death rate here in April with 11,846 deaths was about 20 percent above the average of previous years. The newspaper quotes a doctor that only clear cases with the Covid-19 cause of death would be included in the crown statistics.

Whoever is infected with the virus and dies of a heart attack, for example, unlike other countries, is left out of the statistics. It was the same with Russia’s first death in the Crown: A 79-year-old woman in Moscow was first said to have died of Covid-19. Later, the authorities took a step back, noting that he had not died of pneumonia but of thrombosis.
