Donald Trump: Mike Pence goes missing due to an employee’s coronavirus infection

US Vice President Mike Pence wants to distance himself from President Donald Trump for a few days. The reason was a coronavirus infection over the weekend from a Pence employee, a White House spokeswoman said.

Pence had not been present at Trump’s press conference in the White House rose garden on Monday, nor had he attended a meeting with United States military and security officials on Saturday.

“The vice president made the decision to stay a few days apart,” said spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany. It is up to Pence to decide when he wanted to finish the distance.

Pence does not want to be quarantined

It was only Sunday that a Pence spokeswoman announced that the vice president was not in quarantine. Pence plans to regularly do her homework on Monday. They tested negative for the virus on a daily basis and followed the advice of the White House medical department. On Sunday, it was said that the government was not planning to keep Pence and Trump at a distance.

Pence had caused a stir last week when he was the only one attending a Minnesota hospital who was not wearing a mask. The Mayo Clinic said Pence had been informed of the mask use policy prior to his arrival.

A Trump employee had also tested positive last week. The president later turned negative. Members of the Trump virus advisory team were isolated on Sunday after contacting an infected person, authorities said. This includes Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
